When I was in high school (four decades ago!) I had an awesome physics teacher in my junior year, Mr. Kindred. His class was a key influence in my decision to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. I recall Mr. Kindred discussing the future of fusion power and commenting, as was common at that time, that "fusion power is 20 years away". Well, h...
Use of software on nuclear safety systems requires a higher level of validation than normal industrial systems. AFT Arrow has been validated for such use on nuclear safety systems. This means that modeling of steam and other gas systems in safety related work can now be performed with AFT Arrow.
It is always interesting to see items in the news where our software has played a role. Last week a breakthrough in nuclear research was achieved at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's (LLNL) National Ignition Facility (NIF).
