Gas Flow Through Valves
Unlike incompressible fluids, there are several definitions for how flow coefficient and other loss models are calculated in compressible systems. When working with vendor data, it is important to verify that the information provided is congruent with the model being used. AFT Arrow provides users with the ANSI/ISA -75.01.01-2012 definition for both Cv and Xt. These components to compressible flow coefficients allow AFT Arrow to accurately account for compressibility effects across the valve. Other definitions may need to be converted for proper use in AFT Arrow.
