Colorado Springs, Colo., USA, January 28, 2020 – For many years AFT has offered AFT SteamCalc and the Chempak Suite for thermophysical property calculations. These products have included a standalone Viewer and an Excel add-in. Maintaining and supporting the Excel add-in has been challenging for us when new versions of Excel have been released by Microsoft.

AFT will be making some changes in these products.

The good news is that we have decided to move the SteamCalc and Chempak Viewers into our core products AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow and AFT Impulse. This means all customers will be able to utilize these tools for free. AFT Fathom 11, AFT Arrow 8, and AFT Impulse 8 will be updated in 2020 to include these Viewers, but the time is not definite. 

AFT will send a maintenance release notification to all customers and will clearly announce when this feature is available. 

Customers will still be able to purchase the Chempak Database which is a highly valuable chemical property database of up to 700 fluids and 600 gases with mixing capability. 

However, the Excel add-in for both SteamCalc and Chempak will cease further development. Technical support on these products will be provided for the remainder of 2020 and be discontinued thereafter.
