==== AFT Fathom 12 (Version Date 2023.01.13) Release Notes ==== This file contains the changes that have been made to Fathom 12 *** Changes for Version Date 2023.01.13 *** --- Changes that affect results --- 1. Changed the behavior of the Three-way Valve in the Valve Summary table so that the P Static In/Out are based on the pipe's pressures, which by definition incorporate the dP across the valves. The common junction table is not changed and is still based on the center point pressure with an averaged dynamic pressure. 2. Fixed a problem where, when changing the child control valve type when the parent was semi-defined, the child's control setting would sometimes be deleted. 3. Fixed a problem with displaying Open Percentage and Flow Area for Valves using Resistance Curves and Control Valves using Kv. This was a display problem in the Valve Summary only. --- Changes that affect interface --- 1. Fixed a problem displaying the proper fluid group name if a pipe was in other workspace groups. 2. Fixed a problem finding a closed pipe or junction from the Output tables. 3. Changed the Intermediate Pipe Elevation graph (from the Pipe Property window) to not start at 0 but rather scale to the actual elevation values. 4. Fixed problem using Global Edit to change the number of sprinkler holes when it would also change the K factor. Also, removed some of the automatic value changes when Global Editing the Sprays. One will have to specifically specify the Spray Type, Number of Sparger Holes and Flow Area. --- Other changes --- None *** Changes for Version Date 2022.09.19 *** --- Changes that affect results --- 1. Fixed a problem where the error message for cavitation at intermediate pipe elevation points was shown, but the pressure value was 0. 2. Fixed an issue where reloading a scenario could alter thermal results if there was a Reservoir or Assigned Pressure with "Balance Energy" on. 3. Fixed several reporting issues with Sprays where some connecting pipes were closed or had opposite flow directions. 4. Updated a BEP calculation's numerical method to be a lot faster. This can notably change results for power curves that result in efficiency curves which exceed 100% efficiency for a range of flow rates. --- Changes that affect interface --- 1. Fixed several issues that made Energy Cost Libraries difficult to connect to models via the Library Broswer. 2. Fixed an issue that prevented multiple Energy Cost Libraries from being applied independently to junctions. 3. Fixed an issue that could cause Relief Valve Pressure Units to be reset to default after opening the property form in specific configurations. 4. Fixed an issue that caused newly created Monetary Units to have a Custom Unit display name of 'None' when initially created. 5. A problem was introduced in the previous maintenance release that caused the junction labels to not be shown in Profile plots. This has been corrected. 6. A summary section is now at the top of the Warnings tab when Multiple Scenario Output is selected. This will list the scenarios displayed, a message when the current scenario is not being shown, and other information. 7. Fixed problem using Global Edit to change the number of sprinkler holes where it would also change the K factor. 8. Fixed an issue where calculation was significantly slowing down opening of Pump Form and loading a scenario with many pumps. --- Other changes --- 1. Fixed some issues when importing user specified Fittings into the Library. *** Changes for Version Date 2022.07.08 *** --- Changes that affect results --- 1. There was a problem plotting intermediate pipe elevations for multi-scenarios when the number of segments is different, which was fixed. 2. Fixed a problem using Global Edit on non-cylindrical pipe where the changes were not being made. 3. Added new GSC parameters for Sprays. 4. Fixed an issue that caused the Output Warnings to fail while loading if any triggered warnings referenced objects with the pipe symbol ("|") as part of their name. 5. Fixed issue where XTS overwrites Design Alert entry when graphing with multiple Y Axis. 6. Fixed an issue that caused User Additional Losses to not be written to the model file appropriately. User Additional Losses would be erased when re-opening the file. 7. Fixed a problem with the Spray Discharge junction “K (Fire Sprinkler)” model which was connected to two or more pipes (an inline arrangement) and the user input the “Number of Sprinklers” as 2 or more. This would result in the predicted flow out of the sprinkler to be too high. 8. Fixed a problem when using XTS when sprays are initially closed and then opened where the solver would fail to converge. --- Changes that affect interface --- 1. Corrected Pump Form graph tab to say "Head Loss" when PAT is selected. 2. GSC: Fixed an issue that could cause Goal Units to be erased while in Analysis Setup when a Max/Min Group Goal was being used with a Custom Unit set as the Goal Unit. 3. Fixed several problems when pasting or importing a large set of intermediate pipe elevations. 4. Fixed a problem when changing the default fluid while using variable fluid properties. The pipes that were using the original fluid retained the data, but the fluid name was incorrect. If the pipe Property window was opened, the fluid would become User Specified and loose connection to the intended fluid. 5. Fixed issues scaling XTS Profile Animation graphs - requires maximum and odd per-time step scaling. 6. Fixed an issue where the user could open properties windows during a run and crash the software after clicking OK. 7. Fixed an issue that prevented ASME Steam/Water fluids from being defined while SSL was in use. 8. Changed the behavior of the Scenario Tree in the Quick Access Panel. The tree will now keep its collapse/expand state for all nodes after a 'clone', 'create child', or 'delete' operations. 9. Fixed an issue that caused Output Control Format files to not be written properly. --- Other changes --- 1. Put in a fix for the Chempak eLicense check on model run. 2. Fixed the CII import to allow for file version changes. *** Changes for Version Date 2022.04.12 *** --- Changes that affect results --- 1. Fixed an issue that could cause output to not be cleared upon closing the model after choosing No when prompted to save. 2. "Transfer Results to Initial When Done" option in Output Control was not transferring initial guesses after a run. 3. Fixed issue where weir upstream pressure was transferring to its inlet pipe's outlet pressure but not correctly updating the inlet pipe's inlet pressure. 4. Fixed issue where models could be run with a pipe wall conductivity that was from a database that was not connected, resulting in heat transfer calculations with a pipe wall conductivity of 0. 5. Fixed a bug where using Undo or Redo on deleted/disconnected pipes could cause nearby junctions to lose values for pipe elevation, r/D, and entry/exit K-factors to default to 0 instead of their original value. 6. Fixed bug where Chempak mixture's composition fractions would change to match the fractions of the parent scenario if the child and parent scenario mixtures had the same name. 7. Fixed a problem when inserting a scenario above another one and then making changes to the original scenario. This would not delete the output of lower scenarios. 8. Fixed an issue with auto arranged detailed tees having an incorrect orientation when loading older version models into newer version applications. 9. Updated Excel Export Manager to report the results for values like specific volume that used to report as N/A. 10. Fixed an issue that caused Unit Conversion errors when a User-Defined fluid with Solids Concentration as the independent variable was used as the system fluid and at least one Pump junction modeled as a Submerged Pump was simulated. 11. Fixed an issue that caused Pipe Material Recurring Costs to be imported from excel incorrectly. 12. Finite Open Tanks with unknown initial surface pressure would calculate the appropriate surface pressure for steady state, but this value was reset in the transient. The value is now maintained throughout the transient as expected. --- Changes that affect interface --- 1. Added the capability to copy Warnings and Design Alerts from the Output Primary Window. 2. Fixed an issue that could cause the application to freeze when generating certain graphs in property windows. 3. Fixed an issue that caused the Undefined Objects panel to open unexpectedly after visiting the Pipes and Junctions panel in Analysis Setup. 4. Corrected a program behavior that allowed users to check out both ANS Module and GSC Module at the same time, which should not be allowed. 5. Improved Analysis Setup 'Same as Parent' feature to support more data fields. 6. Fixed an issue that caused Output to clear without warning if junctions were moved on the Workspace with ctrl+click. 7. When switching between Design Alerts for junctions of the same type, the previously checked (selected) items would remain selected. This was only a display issue and did not actually change the Design Alert. 8. Fixed an issue in Graph Results where Opening Select Palette window then canceling resets all colors - it does not keep the previous colors. 9. Fixed various issues with Output right-click menu command visibility. 10. Fixed an issue where the "Batch Run Status" form ends up behind the main application form. 11. Fixed Issue: Model Data tab not showing updated parameters after using Global Edit. 12. Changed the behavior of the Scenario Tree in the Quick Access Panel. The tree will now keep its collapse/expand state for all nodes after a 'clone', 'create child', or 'delete' operations. 13. Fixed an issue where the Property Window during Import will float over all other windows. 14. Fixed an issue where the Quick Access Panel (QAP) properties tab not updating after selecting a workspace object using the Search tool. 15. Fixed several language phrases that were not translating properly. 16. Changed Output Grid right-click logic to allow quick graph plots in more cases, such as columns with some numeric and some N/A data. 17. Fixed an issue that prevented Submerged Pump modeled junctions from being exported to EPANET. 18. Added junction name to the Design Alert report in the Output. 19. Fixed an issue that prevented annotations from translating on the workspace when Arrange->Scale/Flip Workspace was used. 20. Updated the Startup window's Model Preference's pane to require the user to click "Remember My Preferences and Hide" in order to apply the selection in the Units section. 21. Corrected a program behavior that allowed users to check out both ANS Module and GSC Module at the same time, which should not be allowed. 22. Fixed an issue where models could be run while Sliding Friction Coefficient value was not yet entered in Slurry Definition, in cases where it should have been required to run. 23. Fixed an issue that caused Relief Valves to be defined when Exit Temperature was not entered and should have been required. --- Other changes --- 1. Fixed an issue where "Save All Results to PDF" from Batch Run only printing junction summaries to PDF. 2. Fixed an issue that prevented Warnings from being printed properly. *** Changes for Version Date 2022.01.20 *** --- Changes that affect results --- None --- Changes that affect interface --- None --- Other changes --- None *** Changes for Version Date 2022.01.11 *** --- Changes that affect results --- 1. Fixed an issue preventing Control Valve State Events (as triggers for other events) from firing in XTS. 2. Fixed an issue where initially closed FCVs with transient setpoint change would immediately open rather than staying closed until the event triggered. --- Changes that affect interface --- 1.
