==== AFT Fathom 11 (Version Date 2020.11.03) Release Notes ==== This file contains the changes that have been made to Fathom 11 *** Changes for Version Date 2020.02.10 *** None: Initial Release *** Changes for Version Date 2020.02.13 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a problem that was not allowing USB keys to be automatically upgraded to version 11. 2. The Tip of the Day window was not appearing when selected to show in the User Options window. This has been fixed. 3. The Technical Seminars... menu item was not launching any website link, where the Online Learning Center... link was launching the Technical Seminars... website link and the Online Learning Center... website link. This has been fixed. 4. SSL - fixed an issue where system slurry curve generation could fail when Control Valves were along the pipe path. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.03.02 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. An incorrect fluid temperature was being used to calculate fluid properties for internal convection coefficient correlations. The error is proportional to the thermal difference from bulk fluid temperature to ambient temperature, and may be exacerbated when the flow is in or near the transitional Reynolds Number range. Models with moderate heat transfer will see minor impact. This has been corrected. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed an issue that could cause pump junctions to not load properly when parent scenarios were using a performance curve and children were using fixed flow. 2. Altered 'Select Shortest Path' function to also select junctions along the path. 3. Altered 'Select Shortest Path' function to allow selecting the path from either direction of selected endpoint junctions. 4. Improved the 'Join Selected Pipes' feature to support more use cases. 5. Fixed an issue that caused Area Change pipe fittings to calculate k as 0. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.03.19 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a problem where switching from using multiple fluid heat transfer to a single fluid would give a subscript error and stop the application. 2. Fixed some Import issues where some controls in the Workspace were not enabled. 3. Fixed a bug with images in annotations: If annotation does not have original image path it will look in the model folder. 4. Fixed an issue where the Graph Tab was not activating properly when the Output Tab is floating. 5. Fixed some efficiency graph issues for Pump when efficiency is constant. 6. For SSL the Slurry System Curve tab will always show now, but will display a reason if the curve cannot be shown. 7. Added Magnifier and Pan to the Visual Report Tab. 8. The automatic exporting for Excel Export Manager was not working. This has been fixed. 9. Fixed an issue that caused the Quick Access Panel scenario tree to not refresh after clicking the "Last Scenario" toolbar command. 10. Fixed an issue that prevented Design Factors from transferring to selected junctions when Globally Edited from an existing junction. 11. Fixed an issue that caused "Copy Data From Junction" form to appear unexpectedly when opening Screen Specification Forms. 12. Fixed an issue that caused groups to reference pipes or junctions that were not present in the current scenario. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.04.22 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. Fixed problem displaying temperature Design Alerts in a graph. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. SSL: Fixed a problem where the units for the user-specified deposition velocity was ignored and always assumed meters/sec. This only affected the Vsm and Vm/Vsm output. 2. SSL: Fixed an issue that would mix up the Slurry report pipes when multi-scenario output was used. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a potential problem with multi-scenario Pump Summary output was displayed where it could lock up the output results. 2. Fixed and issue where you can't format axis titles if Graph Results window is pulled out. 3. fixed an issue where Transient Multi-Condition events exist for Junctions and Pipes that do not exist in the scenario (XTS). 4. Fixed an issue that could cause scenario pipe data loss upon scenario promotion or when loading a model from another AFT model file format. 5. Global Pipe Edit - Fixed an issue where ambient fluid velocity was not being propagated properly. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.06.18 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. SSL: Fixed a problem with graphing Head Total for a Slurry System Curve plot. 2. Interstage pumps incorrectly reported power for the downstream stages using the overall pump curve. This has been corrected to use only the effective downstream pump curve - the total pump power is now the sum of the two stages' powers. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. Fixed a problem unarchiving the model on loading when a spray has two pipes which are both going out of the spray. 2. Fixed a potential problem opening older model with output which do not have the newer .out file format. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a problem with round-off being displayed when using intermediate elevations on pipes. 2. Fixed a problem on the Screen Property window when the connecting pipes are different diameters and the Base Area is selected to Downstream. The K value would not be recalculated and shown correctly. The value is recalculated when OK is clicked and can be seen in Model Data as correct. This is a display issue only. 3. Fixed an issue where POR/AOR plots were not connecting properly for Pump V System Graphs. 4. Excel Export can now utilize XLSM Workbooks. 5. Editing data for a Component in a database would always return a message saying that "The junction cannot be updated because it is lacking required data." This has been fixed. 6. Fixed an issue that could cause 'Select Shortest Path' to fail after renumbering objects. 7. Fixed an issue that could cause 'Select Shortest Path' to select a non-shortest pipe when multiple pipes shared the same start and end node, in special cases. 8. Fixed an issue that would cause Tee/Wye Auto-Arrangement to fail when using the 'Jump' feature. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.08.26 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. The pipe design factor for heat transfer was not being applied for the internal convection. It was also misapplied for the combined heat flux and external convection. 2. Fixed a problem for Spray junctions that used polynomial type loss where the ATKF corrections were not ignored if the general apply to polynomial was unchecked. 3. Controlled Suction pumps showed incorrect results in the Pump Summary when there was an elevation difference across the pump. Other model results are not affected. This has been corrected. 4. Several Passive-Passive Relief Valve models either did not converge, or converged incorrectly. For many configurations any existing error was small, but for internal balanced valves the error could be significant. Additionally, these valves could sometimes falsely present a "cycling" warning. All of these issues have been improved. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. GSC: The roughness value was not being transferred to the pipe when it was used as the variable as the results were being transferred as initial conditions. 2. Fixed a bug in the Weir form where the form was not saving the Variable Upstream Cross Sectional Area data on close. 3. If the velocity in a pipe was backwards when using a non-Newtonian viscosity model the viscosity in the output was displayed as negative. This has been corrected. 4. Fixed an occasional problem displaying the K factors on junctions when a model was opened from the File menu until the model was rerun. 5. XTS: Fixed a problem with the Color Map where the min and max values were not determined correctly and the pipes were not being colored. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed problem that retained the output when a child scenario was created with no output from the Quick Access Panel. 2. XTS: Fixed a problem displaying the animated graph data for a profile graph. 3. Modified Graphs for Pump V System: The Enhanced method only works with pumps where the head decreases with increased flow since it has so solve for flow at a specific head. The only option to use in this case is the Traditional one. Pump V. System graph will detect this and not allow the graph to be generated. The message also instructs the user to switch to Traditional. 4. Fixed a 'lag' when dropping a junction on the Workspace. 5. Fixed an issue where the common pipe was not being saved for a profile graph plotting groups. 6. Excel Export would sometimes give an error message if an export was attempted with no exports applied, and then retried with exports applied. This has been fixed. 7. During a batch run, if Excel Export had no Export Items or no applied Export Items, the export could give an error message. This has been fixed. 8. The Visual Report Auto Color Mapping in certain cases would generate erroneous data ranges if the "Generate" button was clicked more than once. This has been fixed. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.11.03 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. Submerged fixed flow pumps now correctly account for elevation when calculating power. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. Fixed a problem when plotting a Pump vs System curve for pumps in a series which also are representing multiple parallel pumps internally. The System curve was not being calculated correctly. Additionally, the legend was not correctly identifying the lines and colors. 2. The Visual Report Auto Color Map could round the value it uses for minimums above the actual minimum value when the "Digits to Display" is set less than the resolution of the minimum value. This has been fixed. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed and issue with the form display when editing tank junctions which are stored in the component database. 2. An error would result when trying to generate a Pump vs. System curve with parallel fixed flow pumps since the pumps do not have pump curves. This will now just generate a system curve. 3. Fixed a problem where an error would be created if there is no junction or pipe output parameters selected and you right-clicked on a pipe or junction on the Workspace to bring up the Inspection Window. 4. Fixed an issue where the right-click format menu for Graph axis will not stay open when the Graph tab is floating. 5. Fixed a bug where a cancel dialog window appears when the Output tab is floating and the Run command is clicked. 6. Fixed a bug where floating the Workspace does not allow a property window to be displayed. 7. Fixed an issue where holding the Shift key down while selecting pipes might cause a locked pipe to move. 8. Made improvements for copy/paste procedure in larger models when the paste location is not in the same area as the copy location. 9. Fixed a problem on Graph Parameter Window when using Profile Plot and plotting using when no groups exist. 10. Fixed an issue where the number of connected databases could be written to the file in error. To fix, simply load the affected scenario and save the model. 11. Fixed an issue that caused a Tee/Wye Component Database selection to be erased upon opening its Property Window. 12. Made improvements to graph axis-generation in Pump Configuration window and Curve Configuration window.
