==== AFT Arrow 8 (Version Date 2020.12.16) Release Notes ==== This file contains the changes that have been made to Arrow 8 *** Changes for Version Date 2020.03.30 *** None: Initial Release *** Changes for Version Date 2020.04.22 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. Fixed a problem displaying temperature Design Alerts in a graph. 2. Fixed a problem displaying temperature values in graphs. 3. An incorrect fluid temperature was being used to calculate fluid properties for internal convection coefficient correlations. The error is proportional to the thermal difference from bulk fluid temperature to ambient temperature, and may be exacerbated when the flow is in or near the transitional Reynolds Number range. Models with moderate heat transfer will see minor impact. This has been corrected. 4. When an outflowing Assigned Pressure Junction was defined with a K Factor, there was the possibility for erroneous results at high flows. The reported flow may have been higher than is physically possible, due to sonic choking after the loss not being fully accounted for. This has been corrected. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed and issue where you can't format axis titles if Graph Results window is pulled out. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.08.27 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. In some rare instances, valves using Cv/Xt for loss could find an incorrect solution for non-choked flow. This has been corrected. 2. Several issues with Passive-Passive type Relief Valves were corrected. Namely, the results when choked flow existed out of the valve could be somewhat incorrect. Most severely, inline balanced type passive-passive relief valves incorrectly showed an inline loss in some situations, and exit balanced type passive-passive relief valves would incorrectly show a fully open or fully closed solution. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. Fixed a potential problem opening older model with output which do not have the newer .out file format. 2. GSC: The roughness value was not being transferred to the pipe when it was used as the variable as the results were being transferred as initial conditions. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed problem that retained the output when a child scenario was created with no output from the Quick Access Panel. 2. Fixed a 'lag' when dropping a junction on the Workspace. 3. Fixed an issue where the common pipe was not being saved for a profile graph plotting groups. 4. Excel Export can now utilize XLSM Workbooks. 5. Excel Export would sometimes give an error message if an export was attempted with no Export Items applied, and then retried with exports applied. This has been fixed. 6. During a batch run, if Excel Export had no Export Items or no applied Export Items, the export could give an error message. This has been fixed. 7. The Visual Report Auto Color Mapping in certain cases would generate erroneous data ranges if the "Generate" button was clicked more than once. This has been fixed. 8. Editing data for a Component in a database would always return a message saying that "The junction cannot be updated because it is lacking required data." This has been fixed. 9. Fixed an issue that could cause 'Select Shortest Path' to fail after renumbering objects. 10. Fixed an issue that could cause 'Select Shortest Path' to select a non-shortest pipe when multiple pipes shared the same start and end node, in special cases. 11. Fixed an issue that would cause Tee/Wye Auto-Arrangement to fail when using the 'Jump' feature. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.11.04 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. The Visual Report Auto Color Map could round the value it uses for minimums above the actual minimum value when the "Digits to Display" is set less than the resolution of the minimum value. This has been fixed. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a problem where an error would be created if there is no junction or pipe output parameters selected and you right-clicked on a pipe or junction on the Workspace to bring up the Inspection Window. 2. Fixed an issue where the right-click format menu for Graph axis will not stay open when the Graph tab is floating. 3. Fixed a bug where a cancel dialog window appears when the Output tab is floating and the Run command is clicked. 4. Fixed a bug where floating the Workspace does not allow a property window to be displayed. 5. Fixed an issue where holding the Shift key down while selecting pipes might cause a locked pipe to move. 6. Made improvements for copy/paste procedure in larger models when the paste location is not in the same area as the copy location. 7. Fixed a problem on Graph Parameter Window when using Profile Plot and plotting using when no groups exist. 8. Fixed an issue where the number of connected databases could be written to the file in error. To fix, simply load the affected scenario and save the model. 9. Fixed an issue that caused a Tee/Wye Component Database selection to be erased upon opening its Property Window. 10. Made improvements to graph axis-generation in Pump Configuration window and Curve Configuration window. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.12.04 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. Non-applicable limitations on the real gas Isentropic Expansion Coefficient have been removed, correcting results for fluids like supercritical CO2. 2. A correction to how Static Enthalpy is reported in the Output Window has been corrected, fixing some cases where it was providing an incorrect value. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. Fixed a problem with Heat Rate Into System output parameter for junctions. It was using dTo where it should be using dHo. This is only an output display issue. The results are correct. 2. When a shock exists upstream of a Assigned Pressure, the values displayed in the Output for the inlet properties did not match the inflowing pipe. This was only a display issue. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. Fixed a problem displaying the Bill of Materials. 2. If there were a lot of closed pipes in a model with heat transfer, the calculations were taking a long time due to repeatedly calculating pressures in the closed pipes. This was fixed to greatly improve the calculation speed. 3. Fixed a problem with importing multiple Fittings & Losses when some were already in the database. 4. Fixed a problem when a scenario was promoted which had pipes deleted in its original parent and they would not remain deleted. 5. Fixed an issue where the "Keep Network eLicense Checked Out" menu item would not stay checked. 6. Fixed an issue where the dashed box outlining closed junctions does not show when both the junction name and the junction number are not displayed on the Workspace. *** Changes for Version Date 2020.12.16 *** >> Changes to computation logic that could impact results << 1. None. >> Changes to data management that could impact results << 1. The insulation K factor displayed in the pipe Heat Transfer tab was not being converted from BTU/ft-s-R. This was fixed. This was only a display issue and did not affect results. >> Changes that do not impact results << 1. The ability to add Chempak and REFPROP fluids and mixtures was inadvertently disabled. This has been fixed.
