This week I was in Las Vegas at the 2016 MINExpo. AFT had a booth at the show and I hoped to publish this during the show and call it a "live" report. Alas I did not get it completed and the show ended yesterday. Hence it is "almost" live.

Over the years I have had the privilege to teach training classes to mining companies on five continents. AFT has been active in support of the needs of the mining industry since we released the Settling Slurry (SSL) module for AFT Fathom in 2009 and the SSL module for AFT Impulse in 2012. That is aside from our general support for utility piping at mining operations since our inception in 1994.

We had a booth at the show and met a ton of people including some customers. Among the people I met was Rich S. from one of our customers of 20+ years, which was cool. I myself met people from Chile, Peru, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, China and Russia.

The show itself was HUGE and covered three very large buildings. Some of the equipment from the earth moving equipment companies was ENORMOUS. I understand companies like Caterpillar and Komatsu sent the disassembled equipment to Las Vegas two months ahead of time and spent the two months getting it assembled for the show inside the show building.

AFT is proud to be a part of this amazing global industry.
