In celebration of AFT's 10th anniversary, the first annual Platinum Pipe Award honors excellence in piping and ducting system modeling, with judging in three categories. Two entrants stood out, with one of them being named the winner in two categories.
Use of software features and Model creativity/appearance - TME, Inc. of Little Rock, AR, for their modeling of the campus chilled water system at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (UAF). Entrant James Hess, P.E., CEM
Correlation to test/field data - NRG Thermal Corporation of Minneapolis, Minnesota for their modeling of the district cooling system serving downtown Minneapolis. Entrant Slava Prash, Engineering Manager
AFT Fathom Instrumental in District Cooling System Planning, Development & Operation (373.96 kB)
Having won in two categories, James Hess and TME will receive four AFT Fathom licenses (two each for James and TME) and Slava Prash and NRG will receive two AFT Fathom licenses (one each for Slava and NRG). Alternatively, they may, at their option, apply the equivalent value of any of the licenses to the purchase of other AFT software or training.
